About Me

Children's Book Illustration
Hello!

My name is Reshu Lakra and I am a children's book Illustrator based in Delhi, India. With a passion for storytelling, I love creating illustrations and characters that are hearty, humorous and spark the emotional connection. My work is a mix of traditional and digital media, often combining both.

Getting amazing books in the hands of kids around the world is my dream. I am very keen on writing for kids, and I have finished my first picture book dummy. I am currently writing my a second book.
My sketchbook is my companion and it's a safe space for me to practice my craft. It's a place where I can be free, try new medium, draw a variety of subjects, play and mess up. Gouache and color pencils are my favorite traditional mediums.
When I am not drawing, you could also find me browsing websites of art supply stores, travelling to the hills, trying new recipes, having tea, crocheting or having hilarious conversations with my loved ones.

I am currently seeking representation for my Children's Book Illustration work.
I am also open to picture books, chapter books, board books and book covers. Kindly reach out to me via my email for the same.

Pattern Design

Hello!

I am Reshu Lakra, a passionate illustrator based in Delhi, India, working in the design industry for over 4 years. I have a vast experience in creating pattern designs and I am skilled in observing and translating everyday patterns into visually compelling prints that apply wonderfully to fabrics. I am passionate about fashion, fabrics and illustration. For designing, I do in-depth research including creating mood boards, storytelling, sketching, colour experiments- that align to the final design requirements. I use both digital and traditional media for the final design- keeping in mind the what the final design needs. Digitally, I work in Procreate and Photoshop and traditionally, I work in gouache and watercolours.
