Children's Book Illustration

Hello!

My name is Reshu Lakra and I am a children's book Illustrator based in Delhi, India. With a passion for storytelling, I love creating illustrations and characters that are hearty, humorous and spark the emotional connection. My work is a mostly traditional media with digital tools used to touch up my final illustrations.

Getting amazing books in the hands of kids around the world is my dream. I am very keen on writing for kids. My first picture book dummy 'Cucu and The Huge Birthday Gift' has been Longlisted for The Unpublished Picturebook Showcase 7 by dPICTUS and I am currently working on my next stories alongside my illustration work.

My sketchbook is my companion and it's a safe space for me to practice my craft. It's a place where I can be free, try new medium, draw a variety of subjects, play and mess up. Gouache and color pencils are my favorite traditional mediums. It is a joy to see how different medium play with each other on paper.

When I am not drawing, you could also find me browsing websites of art supply stores, travelling to the hills, trying new recipes, having tea, crocheting or having hilarious conversations with my loved ones.

I am currently seeking representation for my Children's Book Illustration work.
